Sam explains: Patterns are all around us, on our screens, clothes, public spaces, furniture, stationary, you name it. We usually don’t give these patterns much more than a second thought. But what if these patterns were so much more. What if we saw them as windows of opportunity? A feast for the eyes. Epic worlds we could escape into. To immerse ourselves within, to learn from, to empower us.
His Creative Obsession
His deep love for color ties Sam's broader creative practice together. He wrote his master's dissertation on metamerism—how color perception changes based on how visible light refracts onto the retina, either directly or as a reflection. So many shapes are how we experience color without even realizing it—the lighting in a room, the surrounding hues, the density of a material, cultural associations, and even our emotions at the moment. For him, these nuances have turned color into an enduring obsession.
